Half-life 2 will run on any system with 128mb of RAM or more, that has a DX 6.1 compliant video card or higher.

I use to run HL2 on my Balance 1ghz via C3 laptop with 128MB's of ram and built in S3 unichrome DX 7 graphics hardware. BUT, I have not run HL 2 in over a year and I know valve totally removed support for Win98 and support for other things. Not that the actual application could not run on 98, but valve decided in their unremarkable wisdom to disable it.

But if I can run the game in 98/XP with that crap hardware, you can run it too, just don't expect anything great.

PowerMac 9600(1 ghz G4)
512mb RAM
50gb SCSI
ATi 9200 PCI

My Half-Life 2 will also run "BUT" only at the start up where you can see new game, load game but when I make my new game and chose the first chapter, it returns to the start up, even my half-life 1 has the same problem but I can run counter-strike 1.6!!! and I've decided to add 1 GB of RAM...
