Half life 2 install problem

I have a really strange problem i haven't come across before,i know for a fact at the moment my Graphics card wont run this game,i have a card coming in two days that will play it no problem,but,i thought i'll just install it now anyway,when im installing and it gets to the point of the license agreement i press the radio button to say i agree,i press next and it jams????Never hjad this before?Would the install detect at this point the graphics card isnt good enough?Anyone help?

That makes no sense at all. They are separate games and can be installed separately.
Anyway, I'm not sure about your problem. Are the rest of your system specs up to date? Are you installing off a DVD version in a CD drive? Maybe it's having trouble downloading the game files if you purchased it online.
I don't recall if HL2 is one of them, but some games require you to scroll down to the bottom of the liscence agreement before they'll actually let you proceed.
Another possibility might be a corrupted installer or files. Try redownloading the files if you bought HL2 online.

No really, it is a documented problem, if you don't select CounterStrike on install you end up in a loop on some machines, it had me stumped for ages
