Hi,
I have been playing GTA-San Andreas for about a month now and only finished about 40% of the game. I am running the game at 1024 resolution and all details on max. However, there is only one setting of "VISUAL FX QUALITY" that I cant seem to understand.
The options availabe are low, medium, hight and very high.
I cant seem to notice any much difference in visual quality between these various settings.
If anyone knows, please tell me what exactly does this effect. I cant seem to notice anyt much change, and nothing is mentioned in the game read me file too. This is just for my curiosity.

The main difference is that on Med, High and Very High there are shadows cast by objects such as telegraph lines and stuff, and supposedly nicer trees and grass - although i dont really notice much difference on them.

If you put it on Low, you will notice there will be shadows on cars and stuff - just blobs and rough shapes - Vice City style.
the main difference between VC and SA are the shadows.
Sadly on my comp i have to put it on low, cos my card cannot handle the cool shadows :(
still looks good though - definatly better than VC - so i dont mind...

thats easy all you do is get the program called ( Fraps) with this program you can take screenchots in game, record game moment, and monitor frame rate in game. their will be a little number bar on the top left or wherever you specify the number bar to be this will be the frame rate gauage. Just go to google and type in fraps do some looking sorry i cant remeber where i got mine. but for a few dollars you can upgrade from the free version to the full version of the tiny program. I know they have a in game video record function but no point in using it unless you got the highest end desktop on the market cause belieave me even pepole that think they have fast computers still lag up when they hit the record button on the keyboard lol. take my word for it. okay well i hope this was helpful i know ive had fun with this program and taking awsome screenshots in various games really is pretty cool ive recorded video but since i lag badly do to lack of maybe system memerory i can watch the playback in windows media player but its laged feedback footage anyways so nothin fun.

Hi,
I thought I would ask you some more advice or hints.
I run the game at 1024 resolution with 8xAA and 16AF and 3x AA setting within the game. However, I always set the visual fx setting to low. When I set it to very high it does slow down a bit.
Do you think if I lower the AA or AF setting then I might be able to turn on the fx quality to very high?
