i recently got gta sa from my friend.
when i tried playing it.....i saw that the graphics were horrible. the display wasnt continuous .... it had some disturbance...wen i did the dxdiag run in my system i found out that i had a directx 9.0c.
what seems to be the problem??

What processor and video card do you have? How much RAM?

You have enough RAM, but the processor is slow, and the video chipset is very slow.

The first thing you should do is upgrade the video card. Assuming that your motherboard has an AGP slot, a cheap AGP GeForce 6600GT, 7600GS, or Radeon X1650 Pro will greatly speed up your game.

The only other thing I can suggest is to upgrade your processor, but that upgrade may not be worth the money. Unless you can find 2.4GHz/400FSB Northwood P4 for $20 or less, a better idea may be to install one of the above video cards now, then build/buy a new system later on.
