graphics card

ok i dont know that much about this stuff, so bear with me please.

i just recently bought a new graphics card: The Nvidia Galaxy GeForce 8400 GS
because i needed something that was compatible with the new sims 3 game.
(My computer came with the Nvidia GeForce 6120SE nForce 430)

im pretty sure i installed the chip in right..
but for some reason my computer is still saying that i have my old version of graphics still on there even though i tried uninstalling that.

i know im doing something wrong, i just dont know what it is.

please help me out here step by step

Have u uninstalled ya old graphic driver & installed the latest one for your new card..?...remember to turn off your anti-virus & firewall b4 u installed ya new driver otherwise it wont configue properly.....get the latest driver from

The ATI HD4670 is a really good choice for an OEM machine like your hp. Very good performance and very modest power should work fine with your stock power supply. They're usually 60-70 bucks from Newegg.

I installed one in a 2 year old hp core2duo pavilion last week and it worked like a champ.

I'm assuming that you unplugged the monitor cable from the built in video card and plugged it up to the "new" card right?

PowerMac 9600(1 ghz G4)
512mb RAM
50gb SCSI
ATi 9200 PCI
