I have a nvidia geforce 6150 le card w/an AMD Anthion 64x2 Dual Core Processor 4200+. A friend gave me a geforce 5600 ultra. Would you recommend upgrading to the 5600 or getting a new upgrade altogether. I would like to play games like gears of war2 and left for dead. thanks

The 5600 Ultra is an AGP card, so you're not going to be able to use it with your PCIe-based 6150 board. Not that that's a bad thing; the Geforce 5/FX cards sucked arse.

Now here's a cheap, fast videocard that'll handle today's games at medium resolutions with ease.

PixelWorks HDMI board
Lumenlab 120v Pro Mega-Kit

lmao, you're not getting ANYTHING out of a card that's 8 years old! if you want to play L4D you'll need to get one of the newest cards out. what settings do you want to play it on and what resolution. an easy way to compare what you need with what you want is going to be googleing the game name and say benchmark, "left 4 dead benchmark". from there there'll be several cards set at several graphic settings which you compare with what you'll want to run yours at and decide from there.

if you want to play at 1900x1200 MAXED out you'll NEED a gtx260. i just upgraded from a 9800gtx maxed out and it'd always be below 60fps and that was with sub x16AA. i have EVERYTHING maxed out right now and it barely drops to 50 sometimes and that's in the huge open spaces with fire and fog and shiet
