The ATI x800Pro and x800XL are approximately $20 different in price. So...which provides the better perfromance, the x800Pro with its higher core clock or the x800XL with its slightly higher memory clock and 16 pipelines. I don't really know if it's worth spending the extra $20. Any information would be of help.

How do you tell if your mother board has a PCI, AGP, or PCI express slots??? Like I go to my directX settings (dxdiag) and look at my current video card... it says Radeon 8500 AGP, but then i went to my BIOS and found options with PCI in the label....so confused...I just want to buy a better video card that will work.

Hey its me again. I still can't figure out what type of cards im compatible with, but on my newer/better computer the directX settings don't say AGP OR PCI...they say I have a "NVIDIA QUADRO FX 500/FX 600" and that "DAC Type: Integrated RAMDAC"...can someone please explain some of this? Is this computer PCI Express?

Daniel,

I don't understand the dilemna...8500 AGP seems pretty self explanatory to me.

The NVIDIA QUADRO is not a gaming card, it's used in CAD machines.

Look in Device Manager > Display adapters...right click on listing for the video card & select Properties. PCI bus 2 = AGP...PCI bus 1 = standard PCI. I'm not sure how PCI-E is listed
