Nvidia makes the 6600 and 6800. the radeon 9800
pro agp version would be thee card. My pcie
bfg 6600gt oc nvidia works really well but costs about $250 at best buy. If I still had an agp slot my 9800 pro would be in it! But ati has yet to make an affordable pcie card that performs this well, thier 700 series pcie doesn't come close to the 6600gt.

intel D925XCV

geforce 6600 gt oc pcie

Look at Newegg.com They have 6600GT cards for under 200. They also have a 5900XT card (256bit) for 185$.
Good luck!

Considering the performance of the 6600GT relative to the FX5900XT, $185 for the 5900XT is a rip off!

It's actually worse than a rip off, but I can't think of a better term to describe it that's not offensive.

Don't waste your money. What do you need your card for? If you're not gonna play Half Life 2 or Doom 3, then get a 32-64MB Video card for hundreds less than you'd pay for a 128-256MB Card.

Half Life 2 kicks ass

32 or 64MB?? That's terrible advice! What are you thinking?

nebbie,

We really need to know more about your system & what games you wanna play. Putting a ? for your CPU & RAM doesn't give us anything to go on. With a question like that, all you can get is a generic answer:

Get a card that has 128MB at 128-bit & supports DX9

Asus A7N8X-X
1800+ @ 8 x 210MHz
512MB PC3200
Asus Ti4800SE 128MB
WinME/WinXP Pro

Have a look at this site. The Gamer Ultra 6000 SE is tough to beat for the price. But there are others or you can "custom configure":

Asus A7N8X-X
1800+ @ 8 x 210MHz
512MB PC3200
Asus Ti4800SE 128MB

Jam,

There are PLENTY of games you can play with a 32M or 64M card out there. Do you have a serious problem with Solitaire or Hearts that's built into windows?!

Yeah, and Half Life 1!

"And Breakout!...Superbreakout!"

Just kidding obviously...

"...but in my defense, it was dark, I was drunk, and it was delicious!"
