Hi all
I recently got a Dell 2400 that had onboard graphics, and no AGP slot. The graphics need upgrading, so i need a decent PCI card (im not interested in changing the mobo).
Can i please get views on which card to go for (all advice welcome). I need a UK based site to order from. I play games like CoD and BV, and therefore need one that will run these hassle-free.

So far ive looked at the:
9100 - this is reputed as "the best" pci card, but unfortunatly is a discontinued product, and not available anywhere!
FX5600 - also highly reputed, as far as pci cards go, but very rare and difficult to find, also expensive.
FX5200 - have read alot of very bad things about this card, and am really put off by it.
9200 - ive found both the 128mb and the 256mb cards at reasonable prices, but am worried that as it is only a DX Generation 8.1, this could hamper game performance. (also - anyone know of any difference in the chip and memory clocks between the 128 and 256??)

any help is greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
NaTe

UK sites I use:

www.ebuyer.com
www.overclockers.co.uk
www.order247.co.uk

P.S. for games like COD and Bf1942 my Geforce Ti4200 128mb (Dx8.1) runs as well as my dads radeon 9600xt (Dx9.0) the differences are so small it's not possible to spot what difference Dx version makes with the naked eye, I've had both systems side-by-side and I've tried to see the differences, they both run COD equally comfortably.

P.S. bad reports are all true about the fx5200, my dad ordered a 256mb one and found it performed just equal to my 3.5yr old geforce2 mx200 32mb (low end card 3 years ago), which has been gathering dust in a draw for a couple of years. sent it back for a 9600xt. The 9200 is equally priced, so i'd guess that it's ATi's take on the fx5200 and it will struggle big time if you ever get tired of COD and decide to try Farcry/Halflife2/doom3 etc in the future.

Perhaps the 9200 is your best shot with your current motherboard though.

Also try ebay for PCI cards.

Good Luck.
