Help! I bought the sims 2 and directx 9 needs to be installed, but it syas i already have it and it wont install. what graphics card should i buy and how much?
But since you have a crap eMachine (& don't even know what CPU/RAM?), you may only have PCI slots on your board. Before you buy anything, look into your board's specs

Ah, sorry. I've never had the “pleasure” of using an eMachine.
Before you can play The Sims 2, as jam said, make sure you have a fast enough CPU and enough RAM.
The quickest way to do that is to download Belarc Advisor. It will generate a web page report containing your CPU, RAM and motherboard details.
