CPU/Ram: P4-2ghz/1GBddr

my motherboard only has pci, ghey i know BUT should i get a 256mb FX5200 XNX card, or a pny verto 128 FX5500 ? will the extrta 128mb on the 5200 make a difference or has the 5500 got better clockspeeds or what ? any advice. much appreciated

The fx5500.
The extra memory on the fx5200 gives virtually no performance over an fx5200 with 128mb.

with that system ( 1.9 p4, 1gb ddr,) and a 5500 i should be able to run BF: vietnam at high detail shouldnt i ?

probibly not. but you should hunt down a 5700. i heard they are pci sometimes.

The choices in PCI cards are very limited. Usually you'll find cards based on the MX4000, FX5200, FX5500, or FX5700LE available. None of them are stellar performers. The MX4000 shouldn't even be considered. Whatever you get, make sure it's 128MB/128-bit. A 256MB card is unnecessary & a waste of money, plus they're usually slower than the 128MB version of the same card.

it is the core that makes it perform better. the speed of the ram helps too!
