Well I went out and brought a Asus N6200. Put it in and all seemed to be working. The motherboard doesnt have an onboard graphics card so being able to see what the computer is doing means it is working. BUT I have tried to install the driver for it off the Driver CD but it says it is unable to detect the device. It isn's installed with any other drivers. A bit of help please

Previously i think it was a Geforce something or other 64MB. This new one has a GeForce 6400 chipset so it should work.

Did you completely remove the previous drivers ?
Are you sure the card is snapped in tightly ?
I agree; computing.net does need an edit button.

I'm 99% sure its all clipped in properly because its the only graphics card in the computer and I can still use the computer normally. The old drivers are long gone ive reformatted the computer about 5 times trying to get this graphics card working.

It always helps if you list ALL of your system specs.
"ive reformatted the computer about 5 times trying to get this graphics card working"
uh, formatting is generally not a good troubleshooting method (lol). Did you install the motherboard chipset drivers before you tried installing the video drivers?

Well I reformatted because the driver for 98 wouldnt work so I formatted and installed ME also didnt work now i'm on XP. I haven't installed any other drivers than the USB cable one and tried my ass off to get the Video Card Driver installed but it dont work. I have tried going to ASUS's website and got the newest driver also dont work. The specs of the computer are :
AMD Athlon 1.4GHZ processer
512 RAM
Asus N6200 with Nvidia 6200 chipset (not working)
Sound Blater Audigy
40 & 160 Gig hard drives
Dont know what sort of motherboard it is.
As you can see i dont know a great deal about this computer cause I'm trying to fix it for the family.

The motherboard is the important thing that you need to know & you have to install the motherboard chipset drivers

Well I've got the graphics card installed under Nvidia Geforce 6200 and its working but when I play a game, after a random amount of time the computer restarts. I have tried making decreasing the acceleration but that doesnt work any help would be great.

This is exactly the same problem as DarkJay is having but we just have different video cards.
