Is it better than what you have? definitely! Is it worth the cost? That's up to you.

Add a new PSU to that list too. And since SLI is relatively new technology, the number of cards that support it will be expensive & few in number. You're gonna need to add at least another $400-450 (US) to your "wish list" for the 2 cards & PSU.

I thought you were just gonna dump that crappy video card you have & hang in there a while longer? Now your talking about a $1000+ "upgrade"?

Dude, I know your specs...you've been asking upgrade questions about it for weeks. You have an old but reasonably respectable setup. Your weak link is the video card. It doesn't get much worse than the 9200SE, which is a low end 64-bit card that doesn't support DX9.

Flash to the Cheepoman overclocking BIOS so that you can crank things up a bit, then upgrade to a cheap 128-bit/DX9 card like the Radeon 9550 128MB.

Otherwise, prepare to spend $1000 or more for an "upgrade"

i do have the cash 5000$. I got an LCD for a new system but using it now on this one, and i can get a radeon 9600 xt for 300$ cdn.

I was going to ask for diffrent SLI cards on the far right system. They will change parts for you.

A 9200SE is NOT 128-bit...the 9200 is 128-bit. See the "SE" in your model number? You have a 64-bit card.

If you have $5000 to spend, why would you bother getting a 9600XT? It's already dropped WAY back in the performance standings. It sells for about $125 (US)...if you pay $300 (CND), you're getting ripped off.

"128-bit floating-point color precision allows for a greater range of colors and brightness" refers to the GPU (Graphics Processor). The 64-bit vs 128-bit issue that I'm referring to is the buswidth the video RAM uses to communicate with the GPU.

Having a card with 128-bit or 256-bit, is MUCH better than 64-bit. In fact, it's a selling point that is usually included in the specs. The fact that nothing is mentioned in the product description should make you suspicious.

A good retailer such as newegg.com ALWAYS includes that detail in the description so that you can make an informed decision:

Even if you don't buy from Newegg, use it as a reference. They always provide all the necessary specs, & there are usually customer reviews of the product. Not only will you find out whether the part is recommended or not, but you can usually pick up some tips on overclocking, cooling, drivers, etc. For instance, here's what was written about your card:

"Do not buy this card if you are looking to play any kind of 3D games. The performance (even with 128MB) is below that of a Radeon 9000 (with 64 MB). Spend the extra $10 to $15 dollars and get a Radeon 9200 Non-Pro. Returned my 9200SE within 2 days, thanks NewEgg for great service as always..."
