Does anyone here have a x800? I am having problems while gaming, it doesn't matter the game after a while the game will freeze for a minute, and then it will either A. close the game and tell me the VPU crashed, or B. re-image the game and i can continue playing (depending on the game)...then when i exit the game i have the error sitting there telling me that the VPU recovered itself...I know it is not heat due to the fact that i have a Thermaltake case and have 5 fans in it, the x800 is fanless it has the tubes and big heatsink, and i can pull off the side of the case and touch the video card and not even feel any heat...this is on a fresh load of windows, loaded about a week ago, the latest driver from ATI...I checked out a few websites/forumns, a lot of people either A. RMA'd there card, a couple updated drivers, and one talked about a mutex, but i dont think that is my issue...anyone else seen this and have a fix or suggestion? Much appreciated
Josh

Perhaps it's overheating. Only thing that would cause that error. Did you oc the card or the manufacturer already oc it.

Disable VPU Recover in the ATI drivers.

I think the mutex thing you're referring to is the molex connector which feeds power direct to the video card, rather than through the AGP port. Is it connected?

if i disable then the machine freezes completely...its not heat, i can pull off the side of the can and touch the heatsink and it is cool
there is no molex, it is running on PCIX
i just said screw it, i am RMA'n the card and getting the BFG OC'd NVidia7800GTX SLI, then i will get another one in about 6 months and run it SLI :D thanx for taking the time to post tho!
