Subject: GeForceFX 5200 Game Problem
OS: Windows XP Home Edition
CPU/Ram: AMD Athlon 64 2.4GHz / 51

During game play of some of my games the game freezes, then after a while a wierd sputtering sound comes from the speakers and it continues back on the game.

My Computer Specs are:

AMD Athlon 64 3400+ 2.4GHz
512MB PC3200 DDR
ASUS K8S-LA mobo
GeForce FX 5200 AGP 128MB
Realtek AC'97
500W PSU

Try turning off any acceleration for your audio. In Control Panel -> Sounds and Audio Devices and within DirectX using dxdiag program.

The FX5200 is not a good gaming card, but that doesn't explain your problem. Could be spyware...when's the last time you cleaned house? Have you used MSCONFIG to prevent all the unnecessary crap from loading at startup?

I wouldnt think 'spyware' would be the problem here; although its always good to run spybot adaware and trends housecall at least once a month.

I however would opt for the updateing of sound card drivers DirectX.

Why can't we put questions here?#
