Hi
Ive only now decided to try and find out what causes it... but playing computer games (mainly first person shooters) give me headaches and make me feel sick... (had to be one of my fav genres didnt it)... even 3rd person shooters/adventure games like vice city give me headaches after a while...

it only seems to be pc games... console (ps2, gc, xbox) first person shooters dont seem to effect me... but pc ones do..

does anbody else suffer from this, does anybody know what its called, any way to cure/prevent it.....

all replies are welcomed
thanks in advance
cheers
nic

theres a few things that can cause it.
The first one is probably the colors and lights. Lots of games put warnings on them now about rapid light and color changes causing sickness and even seizures. It could possibly also be that your PC is emitting high levels of radiation(dunno), or just the area of ur pc. You can play a console game in any position, when you're in front of your computer you're usually sat in a chair in the same position.
it could be one of these things, then again, i'm only 18 and don't know too much about health, hehe
if any of this happened to help....then yay

Also check your refresrates. If it's low (like less than 85) it might eritate you. The lower the refresh rate the more "flickering" your monitor does. Floresent liting also does that and makes some peopel sick.

Hi,

To answer your first post, YES! I also suffer from the problem. It happens with games like Quake, Doom, Wolf3d. Especially Worlf3d. The symptoms are feeling nausea, and headaches..

I play flight sims for hours but do not get affected.
sitting at a comp the whole week at office, Im absolutely normal...
Cheers,
Cliff
I also play the X-box, PLaystation and Dreamcast. No problems...
