Specs: XP Pro, 2.792 GHz / 1278 MB
Can someone help me with this gaming rig. I'm going to order my starter parts (mobo, cpu, hardrive, ram, heatsink/fan, dvd/rw, floppydrive, and thermal paste) I just need a serious helper to evaluate my list: here it is:
1. ECS A780GM-A AM2+/AM2 AMD 780G HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard
2. AMD Athlon 64 X2 7750 Kuma 2.7GHz Socket AM2+ 95W Dual-Core black edition Processor
3. G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Desktop Memory
4. SAMSUNG Black 1.44MB 3.5" Internal Floppy Drive
5. Western Digital Caviar SE WD1600AAJS 160GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM
6. LG 22X DVD±R DVD Burner Black SATA
7. Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound - OEM
8. COOLER MASTER DK8-9GD4A-0L-GP 95mm CPU Cooler -

See the thing I am worried about is ordering the wrong stuff...and COOLING. People have told me the Athalon 64 x2 Dual Core runs preety warm. Alot warmer than Intels. Umm...yea I just want to get this right and take my time doing it. Its my first build so any advice is helpful thanks people.

I've been doing a little digging & it seems that a HSF does come with the retail X2 7750. That's a bit unusual for a "Black Edition" CPU.

You have nothing to worry about regarding temps. I don't know who's telling you differently....
