I built my computer in the Fall of 2004 and since then I have upgraded the RAM and the video card. Currently I have 2.0 Gigs of DDR2 RAM, an ATI Radeo X700 Pro 256Mb graphics card, a 3.2GHz Intel P4 with HT, and an Abit AA8 Duramax Motherboard. I'm looking in to getting Call of Duty world at War and Farcry 2. It looks like a need a new graphics card to run these games but my motherboard is not PCIe 2.0 capable. Any suggestions on what upgrades I should make to run both games smoothly? I have a budget of about $400 give or take a few bones.

PCIe 2.0 is backwards compatible with regular PCIe, so newer cards should work fine.
My 9800GTX+ works fine in an Asus M2N-E which is not PCIe 2.0.
Probably wouldn't hurt to consider a dual core processor if you have the bread to upgrade. Some games require a dual core, notably Assassin's Creed.

that processor is garbage! i used to have that in a system that i'd constantly drop FPS on counter-strike source with a 7900gt! easy suggestion would be to get an e8400. buying both the video card and the procesor will easily be less than 300
