hi, was wondering if anyone could give me advice on which laptop to buy. im looking at spending around £1,500/600. i want a laptop which will be able to play the latest games for a few years and that can be upgraded. i also want a system that can attach 5.1 speakers. any advise? alienware looks good but are over budget, is it worth the extra cash?
thanks

I have been looking for somthing similer. Tashiba systems look pretty good and can norm be found for $1000 (USC) or so. i dont know what that is in pounds. i dont know how they are on grafics though. I have seen them with 3.4 ghz prossores i them. alienware makes the best gaming laptops but you will sacrafice alot of speed if you get the base modle and the top modles are $3000+

If you wanna do serious gaming, build a desktop PC. I think the only benefit of laptops is that it's small, so it's easier to bring to LAN parties. For me, I'm too ostracised to participate in LAN parties. Besides, I live in Appalachia -which was not my choice- I'm an Iowan in nature(Get me outta here!!!). Therefore, there's no LAN party-goers. So I'm happy with my desktop rig and stacks of single-player games.
Alienware is OK, if you're a millionare. Otherwise, build your own system. I build mine for less that $400. And Toshiba-I don't know, my brother had one, but it was a Pentium 200MMX Infina. It had integrated RAGE graphics with 4MB of VRAM, along with 64mb of system RAM. It didn't run very well, but I think that was because he didn't take care of it. I just have a feeling they're not the best quality PCs, being inexpensive and whatnot.
