Hope someone can help me with this! I'm having problems playing games on my computer, namely COD and COD UO. The game is very choppy and the sound is distorted.
I had a Radeon 9200 series 128mb video card in my system and I upgraded to a Radeon 9550 series 256mb. I did a total scan of my computer for spy-ware and viruses and everything is ok on that front. Task manager isn't showing me that anything is wrong. Also when I play music files, the songs play really slowly! Could it be my sound card causing these problems?? Also I have downloaded all the current drivers.

Uninstall and reinstall all your drivers, starting with your mainboard, then video, then your sound card drivers. Also, make sure you have all the latest versions.

If that doesn't work, try downloading the latest BIOS for your motherboard.

It could be your audio/sound/something acceleration is at its slowest setting.

go to start>control panel>sound, speech, and audio devices>sound and audio devices>sound and audio device properties>audio tab>advanced audio properties>performance> now set the hardware acceleration button to the max setting and click ok and try your game again
