Games start to lag, freeze, BSOD

Specs: Windows 7, i7-740QM/8GB
I got an Asus G73JW gaming laptop with 8 GB of RAM, Nvidia Geforce GTX 460m graphics card, an Intel i7-740QM. Games ran fine on high/highest settings for the first 2 or so months, but lately every game has been lagging, and either instantly or after a few minutes it will starts to lag, freeze up completely, or blue screen. When it starts lagging and I close the game, the computer keeps lagging and I have to reboot to stop it. I recently installed a bunch of driver updates from Asus so it might have been one of those drivers. Any ideas?

I installed a bunch of Asus drivers that were installed by the Asus Live Update tool that came with the laptop. The temperature is in a safe range and is the same as it was before I started having this problem.
