Well when i loaded up sims 2 i noticed in the neighbourhood the cars driving about were going really quite fast, CAS screen animations fast, the whole game. Couldnt change it or anything So i posted in a sims2 forum. Nobody could help. left my computer next morning started playing rollercoaster tycoon. That too was really fast. And same with old games.(master of olympus)i haven't changed any settings to my knowledge. So i'd be very gratefull if anybody could help. These aren't games i've just installed, they've been on my computer for a while.

Thanks

You could try AMD's dual-core optimizer -- if you have an X2 or Opteron processor -- & see if that takes care of the issue.

Try a slow-down program - it temporarily slows down your CPU cycles - just bear in mind it does cause stability issues.

The only one I can remember is moslow, which is a DOS app (I think...), but it's at least a reference.

You could try turning on Vertical-Sync, I had this problem of Prince of persia3 playing way to fast and that fixed it for me. I understand you did not change any settings but did this happen after you installed any other program. Did you happen to update your display driver. Good luck hope this helped. RSG
