Hello,
I recently bought a new Broadway Com Corp(712 series) case w/power supply and after swapping the hardware there is a strange problem. All of my games freeze up (at random times during play) and I have to restart my comp. I tested the new power supply, the video card fan/heat, and even reformated my hard drives and I still cannot solve it.
I have no idea what the problem could be, I changed nothing but the case.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

It's got to be the power supply or it's overheating. Take the side off and see if it takes longer to crash. If so, it's probably a heat issue.

How did you test the power supply? It could be underpowering your system. What are your complete system specs?

look, i had a problem like yours.
My problem was:
I use to play a lot Ut2004, and FPS goes about 40-60 max quality 1024x768.
In doom 3 high quality 1024x768 is 20-35.
Well, here is the issue: Example: UT2004 after 5 or 10 minutes of extreme gaming goes from 40-60 to 15 - 25... or less.
And Doom 3 goes from 20-35 to 5-10... or less.
This happens with any game i play, and when i reboot the PC, happened the same, again and again.

I thought it was an overheating plroblem of my Video Card, but it wasn't. I bought a Cooler for AMD Duron and added to my video card, it was absolutely cold and faster than ever, I thought the problem had gone,I started playing any game and afer 30 minutes or more the problem still happened. My uncle sold me his mobo and i gave mine. LOL. And finally i had my gamming machine.

I tested the power supply by simply trying the new case with the old PS. The new one gives 50 more watts than my old one, so it shouldn't be underpowering.
I will try a mobo replacement, and hopefully that will solve it.

More wattage on the power supply label doesn't mean jack.

Test it with a multimeter!
