My Specs are as follows:
CPU: Intel Centrino T2500@2.0Ghz
RAM: 2GB
Video: GeForce Go 7900GTX
Sound: External Creative XMod

I am having a problem playing any games on my laptop. I've gotten an error "Windows Display Driver Stopped Responding", "nv4_disp display driver has stopped working normally". I've tried playing games of different graphical intensity. Fallout 3, WoW or Medieval Total War 2. I turned down the settings on each game. Each game freezes and locks the computer up, except World of Warcraft. Sometimes when the game freezes up I can still hear the sounds from the game world or even the sounds from me exiting or entering the menu by hitting the escape key. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the video drivers 2 or 3 times now using Driver Cleaner or Driver Sweeper to help remove the old files. The 2 drivers I've tried to use are the ones that came with the laptop 86.63 and the 175.32. Both are WHQL certified. I turned down the clock speed to the core and memory by 50Mhz to no avail. I've turned down the ambient temperature to see if its overheating and the games respond the same way. I don't have my windows cd any more to reinstall it. I've ran outta ideas and am ready to give up.

Sounds like overheating to me, but I'm no expert.

You haven't disassembled the unit to clean out the dust bunnies have you?

Were you previously able to play these games at any time on the laptop?

I've already taken the case apart some and blew some dust off in there to get rid of the dust inside it. Before this weekend I could play everything fine, but I got Fallout 3 after I had these problems.

Maybe your driver is corrupted, tried uninstalling it and installing the latest version for your card?

I'm having the same exact problem. It all started after trying to play fallout 3. The game froze early on and now all my games freeze(sometimes right away, sometimes an hour or two in). I don't always get the nv4_disp message but I usually alt+tab out and close the game right away. I also still hear sound. And I've used driver cleaner and reinstalled the newest driver and the previous driver. No luck.
