bought this computer 6 months ago

2.00 GHz 1.00GB RAM

it came with a Geforce 6100 graphic card.

everytime i run my computer for a long time, and i wanted to play some games, the game starts to go faster and faster and faster. i have to reboot my computer inorder to get it to normal speed.
... ummm in my command prompt my ping times are also sometimes in the 122 million ms range. i replaced my ethernet cable modem and network card. i am a computer noob and have no idea what it is, but i kow im very upset about it cuz i love my halo and dont like restarting all the time. i would appreciate any help in this. i put in a 7900 gt last night tho lol looks good when it works...plz help me umm i have tried numerous other thing turning stuff off in my bios and stuf if u have any questions or suggestion plz ask i called gateway and they said its a 3rd party problem call bungie or send my computer in for like 5 weeks... i dont think so dude lol anywasy thx

Check your boot.ini for usepmtimer.

Should look a little like this....

Try to enable vsync to see if that helps...

Lord of the rings, return of the king, EA games, is running fast on my new dual core AMD 4400+, the above answers are rather complex, any alternatives?
