I have a friend that has a laptop that recently had a virus so he had his system wiped. After the reload of the OS, while running World of Warcraft or anything, the sound will begin to twitch and then the game will begin to lag. Also, if he is listening to music in his media player and proceed to open another program, the sound will twitch.

He never had this problem before the reload of his OS. All of his drivers to his hardware are up-to-date. He even updated his BIOS.

Do you think the virus may have damaged his system or do you think it's a hardware failure?

Thanks for any replies.

this happens on my work PC so any help is greatly apprieciated (except im doing work and listening to music)... i thought it could have been a server issue.

Make sure you have your sound drivers updated and update your music player software. Windows media player has version 10 beta now which i find works good... cant have it at work =(
