My computer runs windows XP, and has always been pretty well suited to handle most games. (Dell XPS 400).
When I run some games - seems to be directX related. The computer will freeze after just a few minutes, and then go to a blue screen. It says something like windows closed to prevent damage, and says that the problem is with a file named nv4_disp.

Seems like you have a Nvidia video card installed, have you try to update your driver to the latest by going to www.nvidia.com? Maybe try to update to the latest version of direct X?

Tried both, downloaded display drivers after reading a site that said that fixes it, and reinstalled directX. The display drivers said it couldn't find anything and the directX seemed to realize that I already had it installed, didn't even attempt to install over my existing directX. It automatically went to complete. Trying windows updates based on something else I read, I'll post if that works. I belive I have a Geforce 7900 btw.
