Hi I have a game battlefield 1942 and when ever I play game it loads fine but when game starts it crashes to desktop..and the video I using is nforce2 onboard video 32mb and I checked game website it says you can play bf42 on 32mb ram so in theory it should work the nforce2 is a newer chipset and its a good abit mobo and my cpu is athlonxp 2100. Now thing is im thinking that my registry is screwed up because its been threw hell after all I got a whole new mobo and encounterd thousand errors and I had to repair my win2k installation...if I get a program clean sweap and it cleans up registry could game then work or is this only a video problem?

Try reinstalling the game... if that doesnt help, than if you havent use scandisk to check for errors on your hd, make sure you do thorough in safemode. than if that doesnt help, scan for viruses, and also defragment your hd.. the seemed to help me when i first installed MOHAA and it did the same thing...

defragging your comp won't help actually :/ just cleans it. If your game crashes, it proably means your windows has an error with the vxd files. Best way to fix this is running scandisk, reinstalling game, and reformat.

I have seen this thread posted across the entire web without the solution. Truth is that the problem is never the same. For me I had to turn down the cpu fan speed to a minimum. Another gamer I talked to just had to uncheck the fast-write (graphics) checkbox in windows. Another just had to redownload and copy over the maps for battlefield. On another one of my machines, it was overheating that caused the CTD. So I opened the side panel and took off the front panel completely. Fixed the problem. So try some of these and keep searching forums for different ideas because BF1942 rocks everyother game.
