Can be a number of things.. Outdated Drivers, Overheating(GPU or CPU), Bad RAM, and many other possibilities. First install the latest drivers for everything including motherboard, video card, sound card, everything. Next, update your BIOS if you could, install the service packs, and see if the problem persists. Try using a different video card, hopefully a spare one that you have, and see if the problem is solved. Check if your video card is overheating or not, since you didn't mention anything about the video card. Try checking if you have bad RAM too. i have a spare but for unknown reasons it will not give any output so remains gathering dust its a sweet gainward 6600gt would love more than anythin in the world to use it but it wont play ball is there any softare you could reccomend to monitor my gpu temperature tried the coolbits on the driver cd no good
