Hi when I play Call of Duty on my PC, the game crahses after a while ,claiming it has to do with soemthing called "VPU". I have a ATI RADEON 9800 PRO card. I generally have some problems with my sytem rebooting randomly.

I have a radeon 9600 Pro and it runs smooth with no problems
If you are having random reboot errors I would first reinstall your ATI catalyst driver
If the problem remains try running memtest 86 to test for bad memory as that is a common cause of randomly rebooting PC's
Or it could be due to overheating
Try memtest first =) ( runs in DOS )

Good Luck

Peter - there are known issues relating ATI RAD cards and CoD but main probs seem to affect 9600 Pro (although 9800 Pro also mentioned). Have a look at the following - it will also give you additional links.

Hope it works out ok for you.

ATI released a hot FIX:
Try this:
--------------
ATI has issued a hotfix for certain issues found in CATALYST 3.9. This hotfix is an early version of CATALYST 3.10 and is available for users suffering the following problems:
* The OpenGL driver does not load on All-In-Wonder products
* System hangs while playing Call of Duty
* Texture/triangle flashing while playing IL2 SturmovikPlease note that the hotfix driver is not Microsoft WHQL certified, and ATI recommends that users who are not seeing these issues wait for the fully supported, fully WHQL certified CATALYST 3.10 due in early December.
-----------heres the link :http://www.ati.com/support/infobase/4291.html
