ga-8ik1100 Still Kickin, needs new Vid Card

Gigabyte Ga-8ik1100 motherboard

Specs: Windows XP, Int Pent 2.4g

Mother board: GIgatech ga-8ik1100
VidCard: NVIDA FX5600

I have had my computer since 2003 runs smooth for its age. However its time for a new Video Card upgrade from my old NVIDA FX5600. However since its ben 6 years from touching any computer parts, I havent a clue on what type I Can use.

Will this push a Gforce 7600 or even a more recent one?

The HD 3850 is about the best AGP card out there...

Only contender might be the HD 4670AGP card. Some say performance is nearly the same as the HD3850 with slightly less power consumption.

Either way, nothing cheap about any of 'em and if you need a new quality power supply the total cost could run $150 or more.

I run old stuff like that too Chris. And you're right; lot of changes in 6 years.

With me, $150 is out of the question for upgrades on a $50-75 tower. If I can find a better video card for 10 bucks or trade for one, I'll use it. Otherwise, the money I think about spending goes into a fund for new stuff...or beer.
