Comment:

I have a Albatron G Force FX5700 LE video (NVida) card and have installed it correctly. My TV Out works correctly and have colour but when I play a game like Need for Speed udnerground 2, the Screen on the game turns Red. I can see video but when it goes into the game the graphics isn't right and I can't see the writing on the screen either. Can anyone Help with this problem? Is there a patch for this problem? or an alternative solution or a better video card etc. I need help with this ASAP before I think of returning it back to place of purchase. I did have a GForce 440 mmx 64MB card which plays the game perfectly but as I am upgrading. I thought by the newer card I wouldn't have these problems. Many Thanks

Update your Nvidia Drivers for your Graphics Card.
Install DirectX 9.0c

Try those two things, (you'll find them both through using a search engine) and see if that works.

AMD Barton 2800 @ 2.3ghz
Asus A7N8X E-Deluxe

I was running that game on a Geforce 5700 256MB with the latest drivers and i never saw anything like you describe.

Just to add to Stu.B you might want to upgrade your chipset drivers to if available, i had a gigabyte motherboard and the sis648fx driver upgrade worked wonders for performance and other problems related to graphics.

One other thin you could try, make sure in the Need For Speed video options menu, make sure that Anti-Aliasing is set to off. and try that. You could also try all of the high end efects one at a time until you find the one thats causing the glitch.

Is this the only game you get things like this on?

i think your idea to get a different card would work well, i also had an FX5700 LE once and hated it.. so many things went wrong like my screen would go black when i play CS or something.. but yeah after switching cards i didnt get anymore problems.. if ur budget is around 100 bux then i suggest get a 5200 or a 5200 Ultra.. because i had a visiontek 9200 SE before.. sucked like hell.. returned it and got the 9200SE made by ATI itself and it still sucked.. so returned it and got an nvidia 5200 and my games ran way better

No, your card is fine I think. I got the same problems, the geforce fx5700 le needs a better processor than a 1.3 ghz duron to run full potential, my 1.7 ghz celeron wont even do it. I suggest Athlon XP 2.2 or higher, although I dont see why I still get choppy on d2 for god sakes... :P
