Today, I went to Fry's electronics, and noticed that PC game section became so small located at the corner the of the store. Instead, xbox and ps2 game section is now taking a lot of space.
Will it be waste of money to buy one of those expensive high-end graphic card? I am afraid that PC games will disappear in the near future.

The reason is obvious:

Consoles are so much cheaper thus more affordable, it is hasslefree and 1D10T proof, computers aren't, and with the advent of online console game play, it is becoming much more appealing as time goes by.

Soon the question will NOT be when are you but why aren't you.

I disagree...

Yes, there are less PC games coming to market, but the quality of the ones that do is much better. Plus computer games are continually improving because of better, faster hardware being available. Console games must run on a static platform for 2 years or more with little or not ability to upgrade.

Yes, console games are idiot proof and online play is picking up. But, it is nowhere near the immersive experience that it is on a computer.

Console games are more of a family entertainment device. One or more people can participate and watch at the same time. You don't get that with computers. Whereas, computer games are more of a singular entertainment device. I don't see a bunch of guys crowding around a computer watching their friend play some counter-strike.

The market is always shifting. I remember when games for the Commodore 64 outnumbered all the games for the Attari and whatever the other console was at the time. Games have benn the catalyst to pushing the computer platform and will remain so for some time.

Yeah Michael is most likely right I think. PC games may not have a big market share in comparison to Ps2 and Xbox, but there is still a lot of money to be made.
If anything, consoles will become more like PC's due to the progression in technology.

Plus PC's are usually at the frontier of graphics and therefore I doubt your money will be wasted. I know what i'd pick between an Xbox and a geforce 6800gt.

Radeon 9800 Pro 128Mb/ 4.12
AMD Barton 2800 @ 2.3ghz
Asus A7N8X E-Deluxe
512 DDRAM PC2700 @ 360mhz

Computer games will stop being produced when the world stops using computers. I don't see that happening in the near future : )
