I have an old floppy disk that has some games on it that I really like. My new laptop however does not have a floppy drive. I have copied all the files on the floppy including the hidden ones, to a CD in hopes of installing them from there, but it didnt work. I figured maybe one of you gaming gurus might have a solution. I even tried sharing my "A" drive from the PC, to no avail.
Will check back in a day or so. I dont want an external floppy drive, but if that is the only way I guess I can see if any of my friends have one.
Thanks in advance

These are all board games from Microsoft Entertainment Pack that they dont sell anymore.
Games like Taipei, Tuts Tomb, etc.

Perhaps the games were meant to be installed from an "a" drive only. Try copying the contents of one of the floppies to a folder. Then share the folder. Then Map the share back to your computer as the "a" drive.

dont you need dos to run old games like that?
You can turn your back on a person, but never turn your back on a drug, especially when its waving a razor sharp hunting knife in your eye.

I did try and do a share folder, but that didnt work. However I like that idea of mapping (why didnt I think of that)and will give that a go. As for those games being Windows 3x no they are 9x. However on all of my computers they install just fine and run perfectly under Windows XP.
Will try mapping this weekend and let you know.
While I have your attention here, I also have CSI-games, and 1 of them I believe it is CSI Dark Motives requires a CD to run. Now that is ok when I am home, but when I am using my laptop that is not handy. Any ideas on that as well. I have managed to find and copy folders back and forth from PC to laptop so that I do not have to start all over on the laptop when I am away.

SOLUTION!
I have a pocket drive, and in doing a little research I found that drive drive letters A & B are assigned for floppy drives, and pocket drives can be assigned one of those letters when there is no floppy drive as in my case.
I changed the Western Digital pocket drive from F to A, copied the files off of the original floppy to that, and voila! Games installed.
