Comment:

What games scarded the pants off you?
I mean, what really got to you. Made you jump back and gasp. I'm looking for recent and creepy and terrifing.
I liked Undying, it really had it's moments. Nosferatu is a bit dissapointing because of it's hack and slash momentum, but is very good visually. I generally go for the first person type view.
Can anyone comment on Silent Hill 3. I have been considering it.

Thanks

FarCry

Played at night with the lights off and headphones on. Those lab creatures scared the sh*t out of me.

Doom 1, Doom 2, Heretic, Legacy

Obviously a few years ago...

I was about 11 years old when I first played Doom 1 on my old 486-DX2 66MHz with 4mb of Sdram, 540mb HDD, Soundblaster 16-bit, dual-speed CD-Rom and 2mb S3 virge 2D graphics.

Scary at night with lights off and headphones on.

There is but one true king.......

System Shock 2

Some people are like Slinkies?, not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs...

The lunatic asylum/childrens home mission on Thief 2.

Easily the most pant stainingly frightening computer game mission ever created.

Oh and coming face to face with the t-rex on Monster Maze 3D when I was 8 years old.

;-D

"System Shock 2," defintely. Even hearing one of those phychic monkeys gives me a terrifying anxiety.

"From Dusk 'Til Dawn" has some change-the-drawers moments.

"Nocturne" is good, but not first-person.

"Dracula Resurrection" and "Dracula's Last Sanctuary" are like Myst but with haunting visuals. Probably not what you're looking for - very little action.

Happy Playing,
Bob
