When ever i play any game, the computer will freeze up and do one of 4 things, either freeze and there will be a 1x1 sq. inch block in the top left hand corner of the screen and whenever you move the mouse it goes crazy with color lines going verticly and horizontaly as you move it... no order at all completly random. or it will just go straight to the black screen, or it will freeze for a split second and then the screen shows a bunch of colord lines going verticly, or it will freeze and go to this window
OUT OF FREQUENCY
HF:11.7kHz
VF:255.0Hz
OPERATING FREQUENCY
HF:30-96kHz
VF:50-160Hz
POWER MANAGEMENT X seconds counting down. In all cases the sound is jammed creating an annoying ticking noise, and in some cases I am unable to press the reset button on the computer... I can only do an emergancy shut down holding the power button or let it be blank... almost in a standby state.
Ive downloaded and installed all the drivers for my videocard and got the .NET frameworks, tried a different monitor and am only left to think my videocard is fried... is there anything that I can try to attempt to fix this problem... i desprately need your help thank you

Im not sure what kind of motherboard it is, its a used computer a good frind had and my brother bought it off him when he upgraded. I know that it is a Radeon 9800 pro 256mb, not the all in wonder deal from ATI. I dont really have any idea what is going on or how to fix this problem... im really starting to believe that the video card is fried... because im running out of things to try, although I dont understand computers much

Yes, ive turned the "eye candy" way down and to a few lower than the highest on the resoulution... like 1280x1100 or somthing like that, not 1600x1400 i think... i dont know... anyway yeah ive tried that and ive tried 2 different monitors, my friend at school said that it could be the refresh rate on the monitor isnt the same as on the computer, causeing the out of frequency...for the sake of conflict, Ive used different monitors and got the same results... i think its something to do with the video card... has there been cases of a video card just all of a sudden corrupting or somthing of that matter? But my components should be able to handle all of this and more... i dont understand and its driving me CRAZY!!!!!!!! im fcuking lvl 16 and its taken me like 2 weeks..... i cant do anything its pretty unfortunate

those "crazy lines" occur when your screen does not support your current resolution.

ive tried to reduce the resolution to the lowest... i called memory express and talked to their techies, they say that either the ram is messed which i dont think is the case, or that the video card is corrupt. they say i need a new video card... thatll set me back a couple hundred $ like $200 or $150
