I am using an ATI Radeon 9800pro 128MB.

I am experienceing frequent freezing problems. I have tryed this on various games, and every 5-10 minutes, the game will freeze for a sec and then the ATI error report window pops up. I can still play the game, but then it will always happen again about 5 minutes later. What's wrong!? I have the latest 6.5 drives. It even did this when I had the 6.4 drivers since then. Its a very big problem because games are about unplayable for me right now.

ATI Radeon 9800 PRO 128MB DDR

And what does the error report window say? Did you try researching it?

it says the ususal? such as the device is not responding, but the accelerator was reset. In other words.. it was the VPU Recoverer that reset it before it could crash and rebot my comp.

Open the Catalyst Control Center & turn VPU Recover off.

Go into the BIOS & turn Fast Writes off.

I figured it was fastwirte. I was reading another topic and it said something like that. But i hope i dont loose too much performace. Anyway if i turn the VPU recover off, wouldnt that just reboot the comp instead of just throwing an error at me? Ill give the fastwrites a try now tho.

Damn! It STILL freezes. First, I tryed it only with the fastwrites off, then if frooze w/ the error report as usual. Then I tryed it with both fastwrites and then VPU recoverer and it did it again, this time it frooze complty and had to reboot because it couldnt recover! Whats going on!! I never had to disable those before, and it doesnt seem to be the issue.
