Freelancer issues

I am having some weird issues with Freelancer. For some reason some of the menus display pieces of programming code along with the text, eg lots of (TEXT/) and "/XML V1.0 parser" things and it makes the text pretty unreadable. Any way to fix this would be appreciated. Thanks.

I would look at upgrading your drivers.

My drivers are all up to date. Freelancer says that it doesn't recognize my card, but the game runs fine except for the text issue thing. Anything official like patches that fix it? I can't find any!
