im not getting the greatest of frame rates and i dont understand why. like people with lower end cards like the 6800 ultra and 6800 GT are getting 60 constantly all around world of warcraft. even one guy got a athlon 2400 XP and a 6800 and getting 60 frames solid. im getting between 20-60 or 90 depending if vertical sync on yet no one else even goes below 60. i dont see whats the problem its a brand new comp and i just installed everything no viruses or spyware

You asked this exact same question not long ago. And why do you list the chipset & not the make/model of the board itself?

Even though you said it's spyware & virus free, I would make sure the anti-v & spyware removers are fully updated, then run a complete system scan from safe mode.

Use MSCONFIG to prevent useless programs from loading at startup & stealing system resources. AOL, printers, instant message programs, P2P software, Microsoft Office, Nero, Quicktime, RealPlayer, software update programs, Winzip, etc should not be allowed to load at startup...when you need them, start them manually. You should have very few icons next to the clock. I've seen some PCs with so many icons in the system tray that it runs 1/2 way across the screen!

Defrag your drive regularly.

Make sure ALL your drivers are up to date.

Make sure the optical drive that you use for the game CD is on the 2ndary channel, not the primary.

Your motherboard may have a lot to do with it. It's not an nForce4 board, it's described as a "GeForce 6100/nForce 430" & the reviews on it are not very good. It's called a budget board that's good for office use or workstations, but only has average performance. As a matter of fact, this review says "its performance numbers were a little worrying"

Boards based on the nForce4 Ultra or nForce4 SLi chipsets offer the best performance for the S939 A64, & right now, DFI is producing the best boards...either the Infinity or the LANparty series.

youve misunderstood what ive said...i meant that the 6800ultra and GT are lower than the 7800GT. i didnt mean its low end in general. at least jam understood what i meant by it. and i have a gig of ram pc3200 ddr400 as it says in my computer specs and i have a 7800GT there is no way that someone with a regular 6800 with a 2400 is getting higher frame rates than me and never giong below 60 where as im seeing 20
