what happenned to the refresh rate overrides? my CS is now stuck at 60fps.. which hurts my eyes coz the screen keeps on flickering.. anyone know how to help?

This is a problem with windows xp and windows 2000. If you know the maximum refresh rate your monitor supports at the resolution you're using, use this http://www.pagehosting.co.uk/rf/

It can force your monitor to work at a certain refresh rate. Just make sure you dont set it above the maximum for your monitor.

yeah i run 1152x864 and my monitor's max res for it is 75hz.. i was wondering if the refresh rate override for nvidia is gone or is it still there? kinda like coolbits where u just have to add it to regedit

The beta drivers don't have refresh rate menu option. You'll need to switch to a WHQL (released) version if you want that feature natively. Otherwise, you need to use programs to force the refresh rate.

Just make sure you look up your monitor's manual online, and use it to set up your refresh rates...otherwise your monitor will die fast. Also, you might want to download and install any "drivers" for your monitor. Usually they just tell windows which refresh rates are safe at which resolutions for it. You'll know if you have the file installed because when you go to display properties, the last tab (settings) will say: Display <your monitor> on <your video card>. Otherwise, it just calls it a plug & play monitor.
