flight simulator 2004 issues? I have never had any problems with running Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 on other machines but purchased the ASUS i have now as it was advertised as good for this kind of hobby? Never been so dissapointed in a computer in my life??
I use 2 monitors (Never had a problem with other computers)
My ASUS will state that there is not enough available memory 1/2 way through and stop working before restarting? (Never had it with other computers)
I am unable to download many reputable add-ons (via disc)that i had on other computers?
I have tried even running FS9 on the most basic settings but i am still having these problems?
i have also installed Microsoft Flight simulator X which worked ok on my previous systems, however this appears to be a none-starter on the ASUS?
I am at the end of my thether with it so hope you can give me some advise on how to remedy this via settings etc? Many thanks and kind regards

Hello, I know that those programs have video options in there where you can lower the resolution and graphics quality. This should help make playing the game a little smoother for your system.
Also, when it comes to computers, Asus is not a very reputable company. I worked for a company where all they bought was Asus and I was replacing stuff in those computers at least once a week.
Hope this helps :)

As you have a new PC, presumably you also have a newer OS (Windows 7 or 8?). There are known issues like the ones you describe with FS2004 on these newer OSs. If you Google "fs2004 out of memory windows 7" you'll find quite a lot of references to this problem. Many of them mention a patch that lets FS use more RAM; this is probably a good starting point. I would also suggest that you check that all of your device drivers are up-to-date, particularly the graphics driver. Try the program with no add-ons to start with, then try adding them one-by-one. If older software was badly written it may not be compatible with modern versions of Windows. If this is a problem that happens only with FS, not other software, then a hardware cause is extremely unlikely.
