Need Good Gaming Monitor....
I am looking to buy a 19" CRT flat screen monitor, and i am WILLING to pay anywere from 100-330$$$ for one.I would like one that is real good for gaming, but is also good for other thing(ex. Word prossesing, image viewing, etc.)
I would really appreciate what in your opinions are the best ones.
i appreciate your help thnX

Look for a low response time (12ms is the lowest so far) because high (20ms+) response time monitors suffer from ghosting, which is caused by the graphics moving faster than the monitor can cope with.
look for a good contrast ratio e.g; 500:1.
Also ideally look for one with a DVI input (Although one with a regular video input will be much cheaper and offer similar performance)
Generally, if it's good for gaming, it'll have no problem word processing etc.
Also remember that TFT monitors have larger surface areas than CRT monitors.
I have a Benq fp767-12 17" which has a screen size equivalent to a 19" CRT
Mine has a 12ms response and a 500:1 contrast ratio, It runs at anywhere between 60Hz and 75Hz. I have mine set at 1280x1024 at 75Hz and it's superb for gaming. It is as clear and bright as any CRT I have tried previously and has no ghosting whatsoever.Look for one that is able to switch resloution automatically, for instance, my desktop in windows is at 1280x1024 and I have set doom3 to 800x600, it automatically adjusts to 800x600 when I run doom3 and back to 1280x1024 when I quit. Some cheaper monitors would just display an 'out of range' message.

I have a AOC 19" Flat Monitor, which i got about $315 Australian. It was one of the cheaper ones but its great for me.
Ive got it running at 1280*960 in windows (cant understand why ppl use 1280*1024) at 70hz. And it never does that out of range s---, unless u were only talkin about TFT monitors Snoopy?
" and i am WILLING to pay anywere from 100-330$$$ for one " - where are u located as a lot of ppl on here have american prices, which is fine if thats where u are :p

one requirement is that it not have the type of screen like on a laptop, but one with glass over it, cus i don't trust my younger brother with the type were when you touch the screen it goes weird, like leaves a trail kinda
