Bought for my from my wife as an early farthers day presy on last friday. Was most dissapointed at first because even with a firmware update, my Philips DVD-RW refused to varify the disk past it's security. I called support who were very helpful and told me that I needed to buy another DVD drive for my PC.

£30 later and a nice high speed Samsung I managed to get the game up and running.

First impressions were that I expected to see more impressive graphics to that of Vice City but they were probably on a par with everything maxed out. But I sun realised the grateness of this game as I took a lesurly stroll around this massive world that's been greated within this game. First thing I did was get on a BMX and perform a few bunny hoppps. Haa.. remember them.. Didn't last long though as I was following a <a style='text-decoration: none; border-bottom: 3px double;' href="http://www.serverlogic3.com/lm/rtl3.asp?si=22&k=train%20track" onmouseover="window.status='train track'; return true;" onmouseout="window.status=''; return true;">train track when a train shot round the corner and knocked me for six.

I then moved on to try the missions. They were pretty cool but as with all the games in this series, the video footage is too long between each mission and there is way to much swaring. I'm no prood but the game seems to relly heavily on the gangland drug/swaring/bitch culture unecessarily as there are other qualuities in there that give the game what it needs to be a top seller.

The controls were a bit iffy as well but there's plenty of options to change the way they work in the setup menu.

All in all, after a bit of tweaking and setting up, another fabulous Rockstar release. Much the same as Vice City but with more options, more vehicles and much more intelegence. You could be walking through the street and a gunfight will take place without you even being involved. The cops will turn up to calm things down or you can join in the ruck.

If Vice City still finds it's way spinning in your drive now and again then your gona love this one.

They need to patch this firmware error thing though because it will p*ss a lot of people off if they have to go out and buy a new DVD player just to play this game. As it turns out, I was going to get one anyway to replace my standard CD drive so it didn't matter to me but my Philips DVD-RW is only a year old and wouldn't cut through the security even with a firmware update.

Thats about it.

Would be nice to hear other peoples view on this game.

P.S. My post's on here keep going a bit skew-wiff and keep adding dodgy scripting halfway through. I appologise for this but it's nothing I'm doing(I think).

I'm guessing you didn't play the ps2 version ;-) ? You get used to the drug/content the game rely's heavily on. however there it a few more issues than I think was mentioned. The sound is an issue that even rockstar has admitted to, it "spotty" droping out in place and in other places spot on so I dunno. Also my graphics begin to drag after playing awhile or playing with the setting. The game is a huge accomplishment in gaming I must admit (although the game was built mostly off the GTA 3 engine still, a few more polygons here and there, and a "rebuilt" graphics engine to allow you to swim and hop fences) Its all good though, rockstar makes one hell of a game. all and all GTA San andreas is a great game to add to anyones collection (although I origionally had a MAJOR issue with its dvd only policy, I do have a dvd-rom drive but no dvd-rw drive so I'm still gripping to cd-rom disks, I know I'm behind the times on that one though) it will certainly one day down the road hopefully have a patch.
