whats a decent DVI monitor I can get for around $250 and/or what specs should I keep in mind when looking for one?

Only 20". You definitely need to go bigger if you play games. Also that monitor isn't a very good deal for $240 for just a 20" even though it may support operating @ 85Hz because with LCD it makes no difference what frequency the refresh rate is at even if it's at 60Hz(just like looking a piece of paper where as with a CRT 60Hz is a different story completely with long usage as slower refresh rates can pose a health risk to your eyes).
I was just reading up on contrast ratio here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contra... which could aid you in making the right selection. Good luck with that.
