AMD Athlon 1.0 Ghz
GeForce FX 5700LE 256MB
640MB RAM Kingston

Congratulations on your success in your studies, keep up the good work. :-)
Your system look good to go.
Half-Life 2, like Doom 3, is being specifically engineered to 'scale' well on hardware of all types. Aside from the fact that the actual engine was finished a year ago (which is even better news for older hardware) what this means is that HL 2 will run well on PC's from a wide variety of specifications.
On some systems, certain graphical effects may have to be toned down in order to achieve smooth frame rates, but your system looks to be in good shape.
Later, after you've got the game installed and running, you can look at upgrading your RAM, Video Card and CPU (in that order) if you feel the need to do so.

man hes just asking wether it'll run or not you dont need to type down 3 paragraphs of crap, yes that will run hl2 great,
Roses are red
Violets are blue
Some peoms rhyme
This one doesn't

Stretch is very informative.
And it was all relavent.

Asus Geforce FX 5600 128mb

Don't worry about it, I used a FX5900 SE and ran CS Source pretty smoothly so HL2 should be fine

Hence 'the Support Forums'.

"Lol. and at times less than supportive...."
"Like me. WHAT?? At least im honest."
that pretty much says it all
common sense isn't very common

enough already
you cant overclock your powersupply, it is not possiblecommon sense isn't very common

I got a Nivdia FX5200c 128mb, 512ram, XP Pro and im going to buy Half Life 2 but i dont no if itll work on my pc so could someone help ME!!!! PLEASE>

First where are you going to buy it? Its not out yet.
Second whats your Cpu?
Third I would seriously think about upgrading the video card to maybe 5900 or a 9800 pro somewhere around there. Also if you have the money add another 512 ram.
And finally WHY DOESNT ANY EVER CHECK THE MINIMUM GAME REQUIREMENTS!!! Seriosly just go to the company web site or just google it. its not that hard.

Thanks for answering my question:)
well i have a 80gb hard drive, dvd and cd burner, and all this other stuff.
well ill get it WHEN it comes out and how much would it cost ot upgrade to a 5900 or 9800 pro?.

a 9600Pro will run it just fine for $100
a 9800pro will cost you around $230but make sure you are not wasting your money! just wait two weeks for the game to come out and see how well it plays
if you're not satisfied then upgrade
if everything runs fine, then you will have saved yourself all that moneycommon sense isn't very common

yes! i recon it will
albeit at lower settings than a 9600Pro, but it will runyou're really excited for this game aren't you?
all 3 links open in a new window
it says here:The minimum system spec is currently targeted at a 700 MHz PC with 128 MB RAM and a DX6-level video card, eg: TNT2 etc, meaning you won't need a supercomputer to run Half-Life 2 but don't expect to see reflective water, dynamic shadows and bump-mapped textures.
This is cool, it's a system tester. Just give it your pc's specs and it tells you if can run the game
What are the system requirements?
Minimum:
º 1.2 GHz Processor
º 256MB RAM
º DirectX 7 graphics card
º Windows 2000/XP/ME/98
º Mouse
º Keyboard
º Internet connectionPreferred:
º 2.4 GHz Processor
º 512MB RAM
º DirectX 9 graphics card
º Windows 2000/XP
º Mouse
º Keyboard
º Internet connectionYou have a direct x 9 card

Thanks mate, yeah i am, i have a direct x card but dont no what one but ive upgraded it to a direct x9.0b and thanks again :).

the 9600 pro is ATI
any cards with 9200, 9500, 9600, 9700, or 9800, or x800 in the name are ATIthe 9600pro costs $100 here in America in American dollars
common sense isn't very common

ok ok, but word of the wise
wait for the game to come out and play it on your 5200if you dont like the way it looks, then upgrade
otherwise you might find that it plays relatively well and save yourself or your parents $300(AU?)many many people learned this lesson the hard way when they all upgraded to expensive videocards to play doom3 and it turned out that the game sucked and they wished that they still had all their money
im gonna wait to see how well it plays on my geforce3 before i ever upgrade
besides what if i dont like the game? I never did like half life one that much when everyone else was becoming obsessed with itcommon sense isn't very common

Remember, you could always buy a semi-cheap card ( under 100 ) and overclock it....anything above a radeon 9200 or geforce FX 5200 with 128 MB ram will run it just dandy :D
I have a 5900XT and overclocked, get 50-60 FPS in doom 3 @ 1024x768 on medium settings with 2x AA :D:D
CS : Source hits 120 fps so no probs.

I know I'll be able to run it, but will I be able to run it a bit higher graphics than average? my specs at the mo are
P4 3.06Ghz
1024mb RAM
XP Home SP2
X800 Pro

iamc,
you are not helping anyone with comments like that, you are just irritating me

Which is my intention, actually.
"Irritating" you though? Lighten up. You need to work on your sense of humor.
