F.E.A.R. Black Screen On Startup

I've just tried to run F.E.A.R and every time I start the program it goes to a black screen and I have to alt-tab out of it and close it down manualy. This also happens on the single player demo.
My specs are
Windows XP Pro AMD64 3000 1024 DDR Ram Nvidia GeForce 7600GS 512MB AC97 Integrated Sound Card
I have downloaded the latest drivers and all patches for the game and still no success.

i also had this problemwhen i had intel graphic chipset and only 256mbram i upgraded to a graphic card radeon9600xt 256mb and added another 1020mb ram to take it to 1276mb ram after this i installed game again and it worked to be honest though mate its not that good i played a couple of rounds and then uninstalled it americas army loads better
