Comment: I build a new PC, its good spec P4/3000 with 1Gb of 3200 memory, Asus v9999 6800GT with 256 Mb and a good fast board with a Thermaltake case etc.
When i play FarCry sometimes all runs perfectly fot 30 mins or so and then I get very strange lag, its as if I get FPS going up and down in quick succesion every second or so so you get the feeling or speeding up and slowing down once a second or so. It makes the frame rate bad and I have to quit Farcry and restart it to sort it. 1 time (and 1 time only) the sound also went off at about the same time. I checked and I have the very latest nVidia drivers and I even upgraded from DX9b to 9.0c. Sound card is a 5.1 on board that came on the MSI Neo M/B. Any thoughts appreciated on this, its driving me nuts.

Reply: (edit)The problem is not with the driver or the card that u have. The problem is within the game itself. I bet u're using the FarCry version 1.0. You have to patch/update the game to the latest version to get the full advantage of GeForce6. Update it and u can even use the Pixel Shader 3 for the game. U can download the latest patch at avault.com or google search for the latest patch. P4TypeC 2.8GHz HT

Reply: (edit)Thanks for the reply, i am using Farcry v1.1 right now. I heard some that 1.2 is a better patch but it was removed due to some unexpected hardware problems. I dont know if this will effect me or not but in either case I am not sure if the patch is still available so I might need to wait on patch 1.3. Does this give any more clues?
