Hi

Even i have intel 915 mobo+ 2.8 HT p4 processor.

this fifa 2006 world cup of ea sports gives some GRAPHIC DRIVER ERROR. the game crashes and all display settings automatically set to lowest 16 color.

so far there was no error to any upto-the-date games, but sims 2 gave same error after playing for some hours.

i updated intel 915 graphics to latest but problem persists.

Don't you think we need to know the error message "word for word" so we can give useful responses?

Ya, i wanted to post the error message but i have to crash the game once more and save it somehow.

it says " ialmrnt graphic driver stopped functioning ...."
its abt intel graphic driver.

it crashes also with "the sims 2" but after some hours of playing.

on intel website they have mentioned this problem and also said they are still working on it.

but i updated the driver to latest. so i just want to know if intel 915 can run the game or i have to get some compatible graphic card ?

its given in game's readme that 915 chipset is compatible.

IntelĀ® 82915G/82910GL Express Chipset Family
The Sims* 2 Game Crashes or Freezes During Game Play

Symptom(s): The Sims* 2 game crashes or freezes (locks up) during game play.

Error: "The ialmrnt5 display driver has stopped working normally. Save your work and reboot the system to restore full display functionality. The next time you reboot the machine a dialog will be displayed giving you a chance to upload data about this failure to Microsoft."

Error: "The graphics adapter in this system experienced an internal error. Please contact your graphics adapter manufacturer for technical support. The application will now terminate."

Blue screen appears with STOP error 0x000000EA referencing the ialmrnt5 display driver file.

Solution: Use the latest IntelĀ® graphics driver to correct this issue. Refer to the driver README file for installation instructions as needed.

Note: If you continue to experience issues running the game with the latest graphics driver, try running the game with the -w switch which forces the game to run in a window.

To add the -w switch, use the following steps:

Right-click on the The Sims 2 game and left-click on Properties. You can do this either on the game's shortcut on the desktop or on the game's entry in the Start menu.

Add a space and -w to he end of the Target field, so that it looks like this:

The actual path may vary depending on where the game was installed. Make sure that the -w goes outside the quotation marks and that there is a space between the last quotation mark and the -w.

Click OK.

Now to be very honest with you, you NEED to get a dedicated video card because that is the REAL and long term fix for your system.

Do you have an AGP or PCI-E slot on your machine?

Oops !!! (left out the integral part)

Add a space and -w to the end of the Target field, so that it looks pretty much like the path below:

"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2\TSBin\Sims2.exe" -w
