DX 9 adapter Max Payne 2

CPU/Ram: ADM 1900+266 Athlon 1.6G

When trying to play Max Payne 2, message appears wanting a Dx 9.0 compatable display adapter??? Anyone have the answer?
I am using a nivida geforce 4 ti 4600.

is max payne 2 a full directx 9 game?.as in does it use directx 9 features?,for you problem,do you have adirectx 9 installed?,if not,then install it,hope this helps

Odd, I managed to get this game up and running on my OLD MX440.
have you got the latest drivers from NVIDIA?
goto www.nvidia.com
and download the "forceware" drivers.
also like the dude above me said.
Install Directx 9.0
then run dxdiag in the "run" command on your start menu.
the goto "display" and run all the tests.
