this may sounds stupid, but i'm new to it.
i've recently just bought a LG 914WT 19" lcd for my nephew. its meant for gaming purposes. it came with both DVI and VGA adapter, so does the com's VGA card. though i've never own a lcd monitor before, i know that for best graphic output, one should make use of the newer DVI adapter for lcd monitor. right? but then, on the lcd's user manual, it shows(graphically drawn guide) to connect both DVI and VGA to the com's vga card?! so, should i follow it or just leave it with just the DVI connection?
thanks

DVI = yes...

DVI have a better clearity and response. But take note that certain LCD monitor supports higher resolution with the old VGA (Analog) than the DVI (Digital) connection. VGA requires you to control the monitor (brightness, contrast etc) via monitor's menu buttons whereas the DVI enables you to control the monitor from both the computer and the monitor's menu button.
If your monitor supports both connection than go for DVI. Try both on and see the difference. Most likely play fast moving game. Say....Quake 3 Arena. You will notice a blurry image on screen if the lcd have a low response time. FYI this is called Ghosting. First thing when considering an LCD monitor is the response time, 8ms the least. 6ms or lower the response time the better for gaming.

thanks guys for the reply. i've search around the web regarding the "Ghosting" effects and was happy that i've yet to experience any of this effect. all thanks to the 5ms response time, maybe.
